I want to impress on all of you the critical flaws I see in the computer science educational curriculums of most major US universities. It is abundantly clear to me why we are so behind most other developed countries in terms of technical aptitude. In order to give you an idea of what I have been learning to do in my ADVANCED Java practicum, please take a look at my most recent program, available here to those of you with capable browsers. Bah!

I'm engaged! For those of you who didn't know (very few of you, I'm sure), I asked Michelle to marry me last night, and she said yes. In true "Rich Gunther" form, I messed around with her head all night, taking her to romantic places where one might propose, and then didn't propose until after we got home. It went off perfectly. We had gone to Cleveland this weekend so I could talk to her Dad about it, and he was very supportive of us, which was great. Her Mom was also very supportive, and if you know Michelle's Mom, this is a huge surprise, because she is so negative, unhappy, and pessimistic all the time. (thats a joke...it was a very easy sell :) ).

Yee-haw!
